Good Things:
- Double Dosing is under way with 3 math classes and 3 reading classes going at 3 different levels.
- Expanded art program is up and running. Students are taking advantage of Art and Music classes, funded in part by a grant from the Beverly Sorenson Foundation. Mrs. Jones is doing a fabulous job of integrating the curriculum into her art and music classes and the kids are really enjoying it.
- Gifted and Talented program running well. Taught by Mrs. Lish and Mrs. Wykstra.
- Good outcome at the boundary meetings. We will get more info on this in the future.
- Choir changing to Monday to better serve students who are in double dosing or gifted and talented.
- Good attendance at parent/teacher conferences.
- Feb. 4th –Science Fair
Attending our meeting was Kimberly Kosorolk, Community
Council Rep. for our area. She will take
any issues or concerns we may have back to the District Community Council
Meeting.
Review of Statewide Training
- Mr. Miller and Lance attended a recent training for Principals and Community Council Chairs in Alpine School District, and Lance also attended one of the statewide trainings held recently. They shared some things we were doing well, as well as discussed some things we needed to update.
- We can continue to use this blog to meet meeting reporting requirements, but need to add a link from the school web page.
- We should elect a Vice Chair to assist the Chair (which was done)
- All voting members were asked to review the Lehi Elementary Rules of Order and Procedure (found at http://lehielementary.blogspot.com/p/lehi-elementary-rules-of-order-and.html). This should be done annually.
- Council Members, parents, or anyone else can review school status, demographic information, testing results, and more (see details on accessing reports below).
Report on school testing/district grading
- The recent school reports were discussed.
- Curriculum information can be found at www.schools.utah.gov/curr/imc
- School Demographic and Report information are available at https://psdreports.schools.utah.gov/Gateway
Report on the use of Trust Land Funds
- Mr. Miller used $1500 of trust land money to buy supplies for the arts and music program.
- Money will also be used to provide more aide time to the 5th and 6th grade teachers.
- Lance requested that Mr. Miller give us an update on use of Trust Land Funds at the next meeting, which he said he would be happy to provide.
Calendar of upcoming meetings:
Jan. 22nd, and March 19th. Other meetings may be called as needed. All meetings are held at 3:40 pm in the
